Purity Ring, Shrines
This was my most anticipated album of 2012, and it far exceeded my expectations. There isn’t really a single weak track here. Purity Ring have delivered on the promise of early singles “Ungirthed” and “Belispeak” (both of which appear here in remastered form), and I’m very excited to see where they’ll go next. In my opinion, they’re making the most exciting pop music (“indie” or otherwise) around, and deserve ubiquitous radio play, as well as the praise that I’m almost certain they’ll garner for Shrines. Go Buy it on lovely teal vinyl that compliments the beautiful artwork.</end rhapsodizing>
